He has long been engaged in clinical practice and basic research of hepatobiliary surgery, liver transplantation, pancreas transplantation, small bowel transplantation and multi-organ transplantation. He has experience in more than 300 liver transplant procedures and is proficient in donor and recipient surgery as well as perioperative management for liver transplantation and other abdominal organ transplantations. He specializes in liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma, immune function assessment of transplant recipients and individualized immunosuppressive therapy. His relevant clinical findings have been adopted by the authoritative American Clinical Practice Guidelines for Liver Transplantation. He also has rich experience in liver transplantation for end-stage liver disease of rare etiologies.
