He specializes in the prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of polyomavirus infection-related complications in transplant recipients and immunosuppressed populations. He has established a multidisciplinary precision diagnosis and treatment system integrating renal allograft biopsy pathology, clinical assessment, molecular testing and imaging, which has been approved as a featured project under the Guangzhou Clinical High-tech, Major and Featured Technology Program. He built a WeChat follow-up platform for renal transplant recipients with polyomavirus infection, covering patients from more than 30 provinces across China.

Research He obtained his Doctor of Medicine in Surgery from Sun Yat-sen University in 2008. Since 2006, he has focused on the prevention of polyomavirus-associated diseases in immunosuppressed patients, development of non-invasive diagnostic techniques, clinical research on treatment, and basic research on related pathogenesis. He was invited to participate in the formulation of the International Guidelines for BK Virus Management, and is the only contributor from mainland China. He is the chief editor of the Chinese Guidelines for BK Virus Management.

Research Achievements He has delivered presentations more than 20 times at national academic conferences and 14 times at international conferences, including the American Transplant Congress (ATC) in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024, the Transplantation Society Congress (TTS) in 2016, 2020 and 2024, the European Society for Organ Transplantation Congress (ESOT) in 2017, 2019 and 2023, and the Asian Transplant Congress in 2017. His findings have been adopted and applied clinically by dozens of institutions nationwide, and his academic work is widely recognized by peers. To date, he has published more than 40 papers as first or corresponding author, including 25 SCI articles with a maximum single citation of 54. He has co-authored 5 monographs.

Clinical Expertise With 20 years of clinical experience in renal transplantation, he is proficient in renal transplantation, re-transplantation, combined pancreas-kidney transplantation, combined liver-kidney transplantation, pediatric renal transplantation, living donor nephrectomy and transplantation, ipsilateral dual kidney transplantation, ABO-incompatible renal transplantation, and transplantation for highly sensitized recipients. He has extensive experience in donor kidney quality evaluation, perioperative management of renal transplantation, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic rejection (cellular and humoral), viral infections (BKV, JCV, CMV, B19, etc.) and recurrent nephropathy. He was honored as an Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Doctor by Guangzhou Daily.
