Education and Work Experience As a member of the first cohort of the eight-year Doctor of Medicine program in Clinical Medicine at Sun Yat-sen University, he joined the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery of The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University after graduation. He has been engaged in clinical practice, teaching and research in otorhinolaryngology for more than ten years. Supported by the China Scholarship Council, he conducted basic research on epithelial inflammation at the University of Pennsylvania, USA from 2019 to 2020, focusing on basic and clinical research of nasal inflammatory diseases.

Research Interests Training and clinical research of minimally invasive laryngopharyngeal surgery; clinical and basic research of voice disorders; clinical and basic immunological research of chronic rhinosinusitis, especially the role of epithelial cells in the pathogenesis of mucosal inflammatory diseases. He has presided over one Youth Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and two projects of the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province. He has published more than 10 SCI papers as first or co-first author.

Clinical Expertise He focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of laryngopharyngeal diseases. He has profound attainments in the diagnosis and management of otorhinolaryngologic head and neck tumors, voice disorders and sleep-disordered breathing. He is proficient in managing common otorhinolaryngologic diseases and has rich experience in handling emergent, critical and complicated cases in this field. He specializes in minimally invasive diagnosis, surgery and voice rehabilitation for voice disorders with meticulous surgical techniques. He can skillfully perform laser minimally invasive surgery for laryngeal cancer, various larynx-preserving surgeries for laryngeal cancer, total laryngectomy, cervical lymph node dissection for metastatic cervical carcinoma, cervical mass resection, resection of complex cervical fistulas, various surgical procedures for sleep apnea, endoscopic sinus surgery for rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps, and endoscopic resection of nasal and paranasal sinus neoplasms.
