Research Interests Basic and clinical rhinology, including diseases of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses, naso-orbital disorders, naso-skull base diseases and nasopharyngeal disorders. He has abundant clinical expertise in surgical management of skull base lesions such as cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea, juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma, esthesioneuroblastoma and pituitary tumors, as well as endoscopic surgery for nasopharyngeal disorders including pediatric sleep-disordered breathing and nasopharyngeal atresia. In recent years, he has presided over or participated in more than 10 research grants, published over 35 Chinese and English academic papers, co-authored 8 Chinese and English monographs, and holds one national patent.

He has outstanding clinical proficiency in the medical and surgical management of common inflammatory rhinologic diseases (allergic rhinitis, acute and chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps), surgical treatment of nasal trauma and nasal tumors, surgical intervention for naso-orbital complications such as rhinosinusitis with orbital infection, optic nerve trauma and dacryocystitis, and early diagnosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
