Education and Work Experience He graduated from the Department of Clinical Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University in 1993 and has been engaged in clinical practice, teaching and research at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University ever since. He obtained his Master of Medicine in Otology in 2004, supervised by Professor Chen Xihui, and his Doctor of Medicine in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery in 2010, supervised by Professor Xu Geng. He was appointed Director of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Huangpu Campus in September 2011.

Publications and Monographs He is the chief editor of Atlas of Temporal Bone Anatomy and Otomicrosurgery, and contributed to books including Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment Protocols for Otorhinolaryngological Diseases and Otorhinolaryngological Traumatology.

Major Achievements He was honored as an Excellent Instructor of Sun Yat-sen University for the 2nd National Final of Medical Students’ Clinical Skills Competition in 2011. He has hosted the national continuing medical education program “Temporal Bone Anatomy and Otomicrosurgery Workshop”, training numerous otology specialists.

1. Otology; 2) Endoscopic sinus surgery and nasal airflow dynamics.

Clinical Expertise He specializes in the diagnosis and management of otological diseases and endoscopic sinus surgery. He has extensive experience in treating chronic otitis media, rhinitis, rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps and laryngopharyngeal tumors. He has performed a large number of otomicrosurgical procedures including operations for chronic otitis media and stapedectomy for otosclerosis, as well as endoscopic sinus surgeries. As one of the principal investigators of the Chinese Multicenter Clinical Study on Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss, he has accumulated rich experience in the management of sudden deafness.
