Education and Work Experience He graduated from the six-year medical program of the former Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in 1992. He completed a combined master’s and doctoral program from 1996 to 2001 and obtained his Doctor of Surgery degree. 2007 – 2008: He studied spine surgery in Japan at Hirosaki Memorial Hospital, Hokkaido University and Nagoya Meijo Hospital, under the mentorship of Kazumasa Ueyama, Abumi Kuniyoshi and Noriaki Kawakami. 2010: Specialized training in spine surgery at Schön Klinik München Harlaching, Germany (Mentor: Michael H. Mayer). 2014: Specialized training at Spine Education & Research Institute in Denver, USA (Mentor: Michael E. Janssen).

Clinical Expertise: He has been engaged in spine surgery for nearly 30 years. He specializes in the diagnosis and minimally invasive surgical treatment of cervical spondylosis, lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis, scoliosis and kyphosis, osteoporotic fractures, spinal tuberculosis and spinal tumors. He keeps abreast of the latest advances in spine surgery worldwide. He has rich experience in managing complex spinal disorders and performing highly challenging operations. He is among the early pioneers of minimally invasive spine surgery in China, and has conducted in-depth research on the prevention and treatment of osteoporotic fractures.
