Research Interests: Diagnosis, surgical treatment and comprehensive management of gastrointestinal tumors, especially standardized surgical treatment for esophageal cancer, gastric cancer and colorectal cancer; minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic surgery) for gastrointestinal tumors; diagnosis, surgical treatment and adjuvant therapy of gastrointestinal stromal tumors; standardized surgery for retroperitoneal tumors; perioperative nutritional support for surgical patients; enhanced recovery after surgery; comprehensive treatment and related mechanism research of colorectal cancer with liver metastasis; patterns of lymph node metastasis as well as pathogenesis and metastatic mechanisms of gastric cancer.

Specialties: Standardized surgical and comprehensive treatment (preoperative and postoperative adjuvant therapy) of esophageal, gastric, pancreatic, colorectal tumors, gastrointestinal stromal tumors and retroperitoneal tumors. He specializes in standard and extended radical resection and function-preserving surgery for gastric cancer and rectal cancer, as well as surgical management of retroperitoneal tumors. He is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases using laparoscopy and digestive endoscopy. He pioneered thoracoscopic-laparoscopic combined radical esophagectomy, laparoscopic radical resection for advanced gastric cancer following open radical standards (omental bursa resection and vascularized three-dimensional lymph node dissection guided by membrane anatomy), and spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy for pancreatic body and tail tumors. He was among the first to perform robotic surgery for gastrointestinal tumors, featuring precise operation, minimal trauma and enhanced patient recovery. Long-term rigorous follow-up data demonstrate that the therapeutic outcomes of gastrointestinal tumors at this Gastrointestinal Surgery Center are among the best nationwide.
