Work Experience: He enrolled in the seven-year Clinical Medicine Program at Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences (now Zhongshan School of Medicine, Sun Yat-sen University) in 1999. After receiving his bachelor’s degree in 2004, he has pursued his study and clinical practice in the Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery of The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University ever since. Under the supervision of Professor Liang Lijian, a distinguished expert in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery in China, he obtained his master’s degree in Surgery in 2006 and doctoral degree in Surgery in 2009. He was a visiting scholar at David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA-DGSOM) from September to December 2018. In September 2020, he commenced the Joint Master in Health Professions Education (JMHPE) programme at Gulf Medical University, UAE (GMU-CenMEDIC-FAIMER).

Since joining The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in 2004, he has long been engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic disorders. He possesses solid theoretical knowledge and proficient surgical skills, with comprehensive mastery of the surgical and multidisciplinary management of hepatic, biliary and pancreatic diseases.

Research Interests: His primary research focuses on hepatobiliary malignancies, especially the combined surgical treatment of hilar cholangiocarcinoma and precision strategies for the prevention and management of tumor recurrence and metastasis. He has carried out a series of relevant studies during his postgraduate training and achieved promising outcomes. He has presided over 3 provincial research projects and participated in more than 10 provincial and higher-level research programmes.

Specialties: Surgical and laparoscopic minimally invasive treatment of liver tumors, biliary tumors, pancreatic tumors, benign biliary diseases such as cholelithiasis, portal hypertension and splenic disorders. He boasts extensive clinical experience in this field and is adept at managing complex, difficult and critically ill cases.
