After obtaining his doctoral degree from Heidelberg University, Germany, he completed his clinical postdoctoral training and then served sequentially as Resident Physician and Attending Physician at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. He is currently Associate Chief Physician and Master’s Supervisor at the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Center of the hospital. His long-term research focuses on the clinical application of endoscopic surgical techniques for hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases and basic research of liver cancer. He has presided over one National Natural Science Foundation of China (Young Scholar Program) and published several papers as the first author in prestigious international journals including Endoscopy.

He has rich clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant hepatobiliary-pancreatic diseases. Specialties:

1. Minimally invasive and open surgical treatment for liver cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, pancreatic cancer, etc.
2. Minimally invasive and surgical management of cholelithiasis (common bile duct stones, gallstones, intrahepatic bile duct stones) via ERCP, LC and PTCS.
3. Combined multi-endoscopic therapy (ERCP, choledochoscopy and laparoscopy) for complex biliary and pancreatic duct disorders, such as bile leakage, bilioenteric anastomotic stricture, biliary tract injury, benign and malignant biliary strictures.
