Work Experience: In 2002, he was appointed Chief Physician and Professor at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. In 2003, he became a Doctoral Supervisor of the hospital. He served as Director of the Department of Urology of The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from 2009 to 2016. In 2015, he was appointed Vice President of Huiya Hospital of The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, and has served as Executive President since 2017.

Publications: He has published more than 100 papers in domestic and international core journals including The Prostate, PLOS ONE, Asian Journal of Andrology, Translational Oncology, Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research, Chinese Journal of Urology, Chinese Journal of Experimental Surgery, Chinese Journal of Surgery, Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology, and Journal of Sun Yat-sen University (Medical Sciences).

Research Interests: Urological oncology and minimally invasive urology.

He has long devoted himself to clinical service, research and teaching in urology, and is proficient in the diagnosis and treatment of a full spectrum of urological diseases, with special expertise in urological malignancies and endourology. He pioneered laparoscopic urological surgery in China starting in 1995 and promoted its widespread clinical application. In 1998, he published the first Chinese paper on laparoscopic urological surgery in the Chinese Journal of Urology. In 2015, he took the lead in introducing robotic laparoscopic surgery within Guangdong Province. He specializes in laparoscopic, robotic and open operations for adrenal tumors, renal tumors, prostate cancer and bladder cancer, particularly complex procedures such as renal cell carcinoma with complicated tumor thrombus, adrenal carcinoma with tumor thrombus, and huge retroperitoneal tumors.
