He graduated from the Clinical Medicine Program of Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Sciences in July 1988. He commenced his accelerated doctoral studies in Surgery in 1993 and was awarded his Doctoral degree in Surgery in 1998. He became an Attending Physician and Lecturer in November 1993, Associate Chief Physician and Associate Professor in November 1998, and Chief Physician and Professor in November 2004. He has been engaged in clinical practice, teaching and research in the Department of Urology at The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, with a primary focus on clinical diagnosis and treatment in urology.

Publications: He has published more than 50 papers in Chinese core journals and SCI-indexed periodicals, including the Chinese Journal of Urology, Chinese Journal of Nephrology, Chinese Journal of Immunology, Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology, Chinese Journal of Cancer, Journal of Clinical Urology, Asian Journal of Andrology and International Journal of Urology.

Monographs: He has contributed to five monographs including Urologic Surgery, Clinical Anatomy of Urology and Handbook of Surgery.

Research Interests: Urological tumors (renal carcinoma, renal pelvic carcinoma, bladder cancer, ureteral carcinoma, prostate cancer, penile cancer), urinary calculi, prostate diseases, urinary incontinence, lower urinary tract dysfunction and anatomical-functional reconstruction.

Clinical Expertise: He is proficient in a full spectrum of minimally invasive urological operations. He boasts extensive experience in minimally invasive surgery for urological tumors (renal carcinoma, renal pelvic carcinoma, ureteral carcinoma, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, renal cysts, renal angiomyolipoma, adrenal tumors, etc.), urinary calculi and congenital malformations. He also specializes in the diagnosis and management of female urological disorders (stress urinary incontinence, bladder fistula, bladder outlet obstruction) and lower urinary tract dysfunction.
