His main research interests include scar prevention and treatment, wound healing, and tissue-engineered skin. He has presided over and participated in more than 30 research projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Guangdong Science and Technology Program, Guangdong Natural Science Foundation and other funding bodies, and has published over 100 papers. He was awarded the First Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (4th contributor), the Third Prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Second Prize of Guangzhou Science and Technology Progress Award.

He has long been engaged in clinical practice, teaching and research covering burns, wound repair, scar management, plastic and aesthetic surgery. With rich clinical experience, he specializes in the rescue and treatment of extensive severe burns (including electrical burns, chemical burns, radiation injuries, thermal crush injuries, blast injuries, etc.), comprehensive prevention and treatment of common scars (hypertrophic, contracture and superficial scars), repair of various complex wounds (traumatic, infectious, vascular, diabetic, pressure and tumor-related wounds), plastic reconstruction for superficial masses, hemangiomas and skin cancers, routine plastic and aesthetic operations, and laser therapy for scars and pigmentary disorders. He is proficient in vacuum-assisted closure, composite skin grafting, flap surgery and other relevant techniques.
