He is an eight-year-program MD candidate jointly trained by Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University and Emory University, USA. He visited and studied at Emory University from 2014 to 2016. He joined the Department of Neurosurgery, The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University in 2017.

Research: His research focuses on basic and clinical studies of brain tumors, deep brain stimulation for movement disorders, hydrocephalus and other conditions. He has presided over projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and Guangzhou science and technology programs, and published multiple SCI papers. He won the second prize in the Functional Group (National Final) of the 2nd Chinese Neurosurgeons Clinical Competence Competition.

He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of common and prevalent neurosurgical diseases. He specializes in the treatment of common neurosurgical conditions including brain tumors, hydrocephalus, traumatic brain injury and intracerebral hemorrhage. His clinical focus includes surgical resection of intracranial tumors such as gliomas, meningiomas and metastatic tumors; microvascular decompression for cranial nerve disorders including trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm; and comprehensive management of movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor and dystonia via deep brain stimulation.
