Department Details
Health education at the International Peace Maternity and Child Health Hospital began in 1976, with the purpose of serving the broad population of women and children, dedicated to imparting and popularizing health knowledge for women and children, and carrying out various health education activities; with brand-new health concepts, it builds a systematic, scientific, professional, and caring service platform for women at all stages and for infants and young children aged 0-3.
Closely integrating health education with clinical practice, a series of pregnancy health education programs have been carried out, including mid-pregnancy care, late-pregnancy care, puerperal care, breastfeeding guidance, and a series of infant rearing health knowledge topics, and health education has been extended to women at all stages such as adolescence, reproductive age, menopause, and old age, forming a complete health circle for a woman's entire life, so that health care can better serve clinical practice.
Health education provides special services according to the needs of different populations, including special pregnancy courses and skills such as pregnancy nutrition, pregnant women's gymnastics, expectant fathers' classes, the Lamaze pain-relief childbirth method, and expert lectures. At the same time, early education for infants and young children is carried out, including parent-child infant activities, baby contests, baby kitchen, parenting consultations synchronized with infant and young child growth, and special lectures (a series of lectures on intellectual development, early reading for infants and young children, etc.), thereby meeting the health education needs of different periods and forming a systematic family-oriented health education.
The health education teaching team is composed of medical staff from gynecology, obstetrics, and pediatrics, preschool teachers, nutritionists, and other personnel. Health education teachers have repeatedly won awards in Shanghai teaching competitions.
