The Department of Pharmacy at Fudan University Affiliated Eye & ENT Hospital was founded in 1952 and is one of the earliest departments established in the hospital. Since its inception, it has developed into an important institution integrating medical services, education, and research, and has grown into a team with a fine tradition and a spirit of continuous innovation. Currently, it comprises the Fengyang Campus, Pujiang Campus, and Baoqing Campus, providing homogeneous pharmaceutical services. It includes outpatient and emergency pharmacies, inpatient pharmacy, clinical pharmacy office, preparation room, drug testing laboratory, drug storage, inpatient intravenous drug admixture center, outpatient intravenous drug admixture center, internet hospital pharmacy, GCP pharmacy, and Ethics Committee Office. Its main functions include drug procurement and supply, prescription dispensing, hospital preparation production and testing, adverse drug reaction monitoring and reporting, pharmaceutical consultation, pharmaceutical administration, clinical pharmacy services and research, research and development of ophthalmic and otolaryngological drug preparations, and clinical trial management. The annual prescription volume exceeds 5 million. Currently, there are 23 self-made preparations and 18 extemporaneous preparations, with an annual production of over 1.5 million units, ranking among the top in China among specialized hospitals in terms of self-made preparation production and dispensing volume, and its pharmaceutical service level is also at the leading level among domestic specialized hospitals. It is also a Master's degree program in Clinical Pharmacy at Fudan University, and a internship and clerkship base for master's, bachelor's, associate, and secondary vocational students from Fudan University, Shanghai Health Vocational College, and Shanghai Pharmaceutical College. There are currently 56 active staff members, including 2 with senior technical titles and 30 with intermediate technical titles. There is 1 master's supervisor, 18 with master's degrees or above, and 10 with clinical pharmacist qualification certificates. A high-caliber, high-level, and high-quality disciplinary talent echelon has been established, along with a sound continuing education system for pharmacists, playing an important role in the hospital's medical services, education, and research. To build a key clinical pharmacy specialty for the Eye & ENT Hospital, we work closely with clinical departments and are committed to multi-dimensional research in hospital-characteristic preparations, comprehensive clinical drug evaluation, clinical pharmacology, and clinical pharmacy services. We have successively undertaken multiple research projects from the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission and the Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association. In the past five years, we have applied for 3 Chinese invention patents, published more than 30 papers in SCI and core journals, and served as chief editor or co-editor of 2 monographs. We have repeatedly won the Outstanding Paper Award from the Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association and the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, the Fudan University Top Ten Outstanding Medical Technicians award, and the "Silver Snake Award," the highest honor for young talents in the Shanghai health system.
