It is one of the largest centers in China for the diagnosis, treatment, research, and education of cataracts and lens diseases. We diagnose and treat various types of cataracts and lens-related diseases, especially various complex and difficult lens diseases. The annual volume of cataract surgeries exceeds 15,000 cases, and among complex cataracts and lens diseases, more than 50% are difficult cases referred from all over the country. We provide the highest quality diagnostic and treatment services for patients with various types of cataracts and lens diseases (including infantile lens diseases). The discipline leader is Professor Jiang Yongxiang, Deputy Director of the Department of Ophthalmology at Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University, Deputy Head of the Cataract Group of the Shanghai Medical Association, and Vice Chairman of the Visual Rehabilitation Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine. 　　We were the first in the country to carry out minimally invasive phacoemulsification surgery for cataracts, various complex cataract surgeries, personalized precise refractive cataract surgery, femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery, minimally invasive lens surgery for infants and young children, complex lens dislocation surgery, minimally invasive surgery for intraocular lens dislocation, and minimally invasive repair surgery for ciliary body dialysis (angle recession leakage). Over the years, we have achieved remarkable results in medical care, education, and research, and our diagnosis, treatment, and research have reached the international leading level. Based on precision treatment, this group has established a diagnosis and treatment system and follow-up standards for congenital lens diseases (including congenital cataracts and lens dislocation), forming a diagnosis and treatment center characterized by lens dislocation, congenital cataracts, and complex cataracts. In addition, this group jointly established a domestically influential minimally invasive surgery center for intraocular lens dislocation. Two branded charitable public welfare groups, "Xianbai Baobao" and "Mafan Baobao," have been established to regularly serve a large number of patients and have great influence nationwide. We have attracted and trained a large number of special visiting doctors and visiting scholars from hospitals across the country. 　　We have undertaken more than 50 projects at the national, provincial and ministerial, and municipal and bureau levels, including more than 20 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. More than 200 SCI papers have been published, many of which have appeared in top international journals. We have served as chief editors of multiple professional works such as Practical Surgery for Lens Dislocation, and have obtained more than 10 national patents, including 2 invention patents. The team's research achievements have won 4 second prizes for provincial and ministerial scientific and technological achievements. 　　At present, we have a backbone team of 9 professional physicians with senior professional titles. This includes: 3 chief physicians, 5 associate chief physicians, and 1 associate researcher, among whom there is 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 2 doctoral supervisors, and 1 master's supervisor.
