The Department of Bone and Joint Surgery and Sports Trauma at Renji Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine is a nationally renowned comprehensive orthopedic disease treatment center specializing in bone and joint, sports, and trauma diseases, integrating prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and scientific research. The discipline has more than 170 beds, an annual outpatient service volume of over 250,000, an annual surgical volume of nearly 12,000 procedures, and an annual science popularization outreach click volume exceeding 600 million. The East and West hospital districts have three sub-specialties: joint, sports medicine, and trauma, while the South hospital district has four sub-specialties: joint, sports medicine, spine, and trauma. The department's artificial hip and knee replacement technology and robotic surgery technology, hip and knee preservation technology, arthroscopic minimally invasive treatment technology, minimally invasive treatment technology for spinal diseases, and complex fracture and trauma treatment technologies have all reached international standards.
