Department Introduction Department Overview The Department of Clinical Nutrition at Ruijin Hospital was founded in 1995, being one of the first established emerging disciplines in China dedicated to clinical nutrition teaching, treatment, and research. Under the leadership of Professor Cao Weixin, the discipline leader, founding director, and expert in surgical clinical nutrition, doctoral supervisor, the department has featured nutritional support for gastric cancer, promoted standardized concepts of tumor nutritional support, and independently or collaboratively received several science and technology progress awards at various levels and categories. The Department of Clinical Nutrition takes nutritional health as its mission, gathers kindness and love, pursues excellence, and is oriented toward life-cycle health management. With the purpose of "clinical nutrition, nutrition clinical," it applies professional techniques such as enteral and parenteral nutrition support and medical nutrition therapy, focusing on nutritional treatment and science education for gastrointestinal tumors, inflammatory bowel disease, sarcopenia, diabetes, and obesity. In recent years, it has successively received honorary titles such as "National Advanced Outstanding Team in Nutritional Science," "Advanced Unit in Parenteral Nutrition Work," and "Advanced Collective in Anti-Epidemic Rehabilitation."
