Department Introduction Department Overview The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Ruijin Hospital is one of the earliest established departments in the hospital. Currently, the main campus and Jiading campus have a total of 110 beds, with 4 chief physicians and 14 associate chief physicians. Among them, the gynecology department has developed distinctive features in minimally invasive hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery (including robotic surgery), multidisciplinary joint diagnosis and treatment of complex gynecological diseases and malignant tumors, and full life-cycle management of reproductive endocrine diseases. The gynecology department is among the first batch of Level 4 endoscopic surgery training bases approved by the National Health Commission, equipped with advanced devices such as 3D endoscopy, fluorescence endoscopy, and robots, and performs over 3,000 Level 3 and Level 4 surgeries annually. Ruijin Obstetrics is a Shanghai Critical Maternal Rescue Center. Relying on the hospital's strong capabilities, it has established two collaborative groups: "multidisciplinary prevention" and "multidisciplinary rescue." From joint outpatient intervention to ward collaborative rescue, it has formed a complete three-dimensional rescue system for critically ill pregnant women; at the same time, as a Shanghai Prenatal Diagnosis Center, it possesses various prenatal screening and diagnostic technologies; it also provides services such as painless delivery and postpartum pelvic floor rehabilitation, comprehensively ensuring maternal and infant safety. Discipline leader Director Feng Weiwei, doctoral supervisor, serves as a member of the Gynecological Oncology Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, a member of the Gynecology Committee of the Endoscopy Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and vice chair of the Gynecological Oncology Committee of the Shanghai Anticancer Association. In 2017, she was awarded the "Shanghai Municipal Education Commission Plateau and Peak Talent Research-Oriented Physician," and in 2021, she received the "Ministry of Education Curriculum Ideological and Political Team and Teaching Master" award. She is proficient in the precise diagnosis, surgery, and comprehensive management of gynecological malignant tumors (ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer, and cervical cancer); in the past 5 years, she has led the department to obtain funding for 10 national and provincial/ministerial-level research projects and publish 75 high-quality papers. Among them, in 2022, a paper on the diagnosis of ovarian malignant tumors using a deep learning algorithm based on ultrasound images was published in the top journal in the field of imaging, Radiology, marking that the research of Chinese scholars in the field of ultrasound diagnosis of ovarian tumors has been highly recognized by international peers, and also demonstrating that the ability of Ruijin Gynecology in diagnosing and treating ovarian tumors has reached the domestic advanced level.
