Department Details
The Department of Radiation Oncology at Ruijin Hospital was established in 1992 and is one of the earliest institutions in Shanghai to carry out radiotherapy. Over the 26 years since its establishment, the department has implemented the concept of comprehensive treatment in tumor therapy and followed international standardized treatment criteria. In recent years, the department has developed rapidly. While continuously introducing talent, the department has also constantly updated advanced radiotherapy equipment. Currently, the department possesses one 16-slice large-bore CT, one simulator, one ELEKTA linear accelerator (Synergy), one VARIAN high-end accelerator (EDGE), one gynecological three-dimensional brachytherapy device, and one VARIAN linear accelerator (Trilogy) at the Proton Center. At present, the department can carry out volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), precise three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT), brachytherapy, and, in combination with our hospital's PET-CT and PET-MR precise functional localization, achieve internationally leading levels of precision radiotherapy. It can treat various malignant tumors of the head and neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis, lymphatic system, genitourinary system, as well as metastatic or recurrent malignancies. Moreover, the department's subspecialty level is outstanding, with experts conducting long-term in-depth research on different tumors, demonstrating superb treatment standards and rich experience.
