Peking University International Hospital actively responds to national policies, thoroughly implements the "Healthy China 2030" strategy, and pragmatically addresses the issue of population aging in our society. With the full support of hospital leaders at all levels, the Department of General Practice was officially established on April 10, 2023. The establishment of the Department of General Practice also marks a new step in the discipline construction of Peking University International Hospital, and the development of medical care, education, and research has entered a new stage. The Department of General Practice will rely on the strong medical strength of various specialties at Peking University International Hospital, integrating medical care, teaching, and research, and is committed to cultivating composite general practice medical talents with high comprehensive capabilities. Its main functions are to carry out general practice-related diagnosis and treatment work, undertake general practice teaching, training, and research work, and cultivate high-level general practice talents. Through the exemplary teaching by the faculty of the Department of General Practice, the advantages of the general practice department of a comprehensive hospital in clinical, teaching, and research aspects are fully utilized, and high-level general practitioners are jointly trained with community medical institutions, providing supporting services for the realization of two-way referral between comprehensive hospitals and community medical institutions.
