The Department of Psychology at Peking University International Hospital was established in December 2014. Since its inception, the department has been dedicated to providing high-level mental health services with "sincerity, meticulousness, patience, and precision," adhering to the humanistic philosophy of "visitor-centered care" to better serve patients. Under the leadership of its two successive directors, the department has evolved from a single medication-based treatment approach to a precision diagnosis and treatment model that integrates "patient-centered" individualized treatment plans combining "medication-psychotherapy-social support." The Department of Psychology currently has 2 chief physicians, 3 associate chief physicians, and 2 attending physicians, all of whom possess years of clinical experience in psychiatry and psychology-related specialties and strong medical backgrounds. Leveraging the hospital's multidisciplinary advantages, the department collaboratively promotes the development of psychological and behavioral medicine, fostering harmony of the mind, family, and society. It upholds a "people-oriented" approach, practices the "biopsychosocial" medical model, and implements a whole-person, whole-life-cycle diagnostic and treatment model, delivering warm medical services to meet the growing public demand for mental health care.
