The Department of Urology at Peking University International Hospital was established in December 2014 when the hospital opened. The first Director of the Department was Professor Wang Xiaofeng, and the current Director is Professor Xia Ming. Adhering to the development philosophy of a high starting point, the department is dedicated to building a specialized discipline. Relying on Peking University Health Science Center, with 3 chief physicians as the core and 4 associate chief physicians as the backbone, it leads young and middle-aged physicians and specialized nurses to form a development pattern of coordinated clinical practice, education, and research. The inpatient ward of the department has 51 open beds, including three-patient rooms, two-patient rooms, special-demand single rooms, and 1 isolation room, meeting the individualized needs of patients. Under the leadership of Professor Xia Ming, the department focuses on technological innovation and clinical translational application in the diagnosis and treatment of urinary system diseases, and has achieved remarkable results in recent years in areas such as urological clinical diagnosis and treatment and minimally invasive surgery. The department adheres to the diagnosis and treatment philosophy of "everything for patients, for all patients, for everything of patients," providing comprehensive and high-quality services centered on patients. It has established specialized sub-specialties: urological tumors, urinary stones, prostate diseases, voiding dysfunction, kidney transplantation, and andrological diseases, etc., with experienced physicians providing precise and individualized diagnosis and treatment services.
