As the Department of Internal Medicine within a specialized obstetrics and gynecology hospital, our clinical work centers around the populations served by the hospital—pregnant and postpartum women, pre-pregnancy individuals, and surgical patients from the gynecology and breast surgery departments. Through decades of clinical accumulation, we have developed our own clinical characteristics. For patients in gynecology and breast surgery, especially middle-aged and elderly patients with comorbid cardiovascular, endocrine, respiratory system and other diseases, we carry out clinical diagnosis and treatment work including preoperative adjustment of blood pressure and blood glucose, correction of arrhythmias, perioperative preparation for elderly patients, and postoperative follow-up. We conduct pre-pregnancy assessment, guidance, and targeted diagnosis and treatment for women of childbearing age. We provide diagnosis and treatment for pregnant women with comorbid respiratory tract infections, thyroid dysfunction, hypertension, diabetes, anemia, thrombocytopenia, abnormal liver function and other diseases, as well as postpartum follow-up. In response to the physiological changes of different populations during special stages (pregnant and postpartum women during pregnancy, surgical patients during the perioperative period), we have rich clinical experience in medication during pregnancy and in the diagnosis, treatment, and rescue of internal medicine complications during the perioperative period.
