Gynecology is a key discipline in our hospital, comprising a gynecology clinic, a cervical disease diagnosis and treatment center, and three gynecology wards with 124 beds. It integrates clinical care, scientific research, and teaching, with a scope of diagnosis and treatment covering all gynecological diseases. In the 1970s, it was the first in Shanghai to carry out hysteroscopic and laparoscopic diagnosis and surgery. At present, gynecological surgery in our hospital is developing toward comprehensive minimally invasive approaches, with hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery accounting for more than 80% of gynecological surgeries. It is one of the earliest national advanced endoscopic surgeon training bases approved by the National Health and Family Planning Commission. It is in a leading position in Shanghai in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological malignant tumors, correction of female reproductive tract malformations, and diagnosis and treatment of female pelvic floor and urinary system diseases. In order to standardize the diagnosis and treatment of cervical diseases, we took the lead in establishing a multidisciplinary cervical disease diagnosis and treatment center to strengthen the treatment and follow-up of cervical diseases and reduce the incidence of cervical cancer. The Department of Gynecology has undertaken multiple national and Shanghai municipal clinical research tasks and has achieved multiple research results.
