The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Peking University International Hospital is a modern center for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac diseases that integrates clinical care, academic research, talent development, and disciplinary construction. Under the leadership of the renowned cardiovascular expert Professor Nie Shaoping, Vice President of Peking University International Hospital, and Professor Liu Xiaohui, Director of the Department of Cardiology, the department has entered a phase of rapid development and has grown into a core pillar department of the hospital, with rapidly expanding clinical scale and steadily rising technical strength. Adhering to the goal of high-standard, high-quality disciplinary construction, the Chest Pain Center has successfully passed authoritative certification and established an efficient and standardized green channel for the treatment of acute chest pain. The department provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for various cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease, hypertension, arrhythmias, heart failure, and congenital heart disease. Its capabilities in various cardiac interventional diagnostic and therapeutic techniques have become increasingly refined, enabling proficient performance of advanced procedures such as complex coronary lesion intervention, radiofrequency ablation for arrhythmias, interventional treatment for structural heart disease, and renal denervation (RDN) for resistant hypertension, having already provided precise, minimally invasive, and safe treatment plans for tens of thousands of patients.
